504 and ADA Grievance Procedures 

NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS

The following are responsible for coordinating and monitoring activities necessary for compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

Anyone who believes that the school system has discriminated against them or another individual may file a complaint.  The complaint can be sent to:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (prohibits discrimination on the basis of handicap)
Americans with Disabilities Act (prohibits discrimination of the basis of disability)
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act (prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin)
Title IX of the Education Amendments (prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex)

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS

Student complaints and grievances shall first be made to the teacher, then to the principal.  If not resolved, the matter may then be appealed to the superintendent and ultimately to the Board.
